Southport is close to the region’s motorway network with ample parking.

From the South

Take the M6 to exit 26, the M58 will take you to Ormskirk and then take the A570 to Southport.

From the North

Follow the A59 from Preston, exit 31 if coming from the M6, and then follow the A565 to Southport.

Public Transport

Regular trains, buses and coaches run from Liverpool, Wigan and Manchester. There is a shuttle bus available at a return cost of £1.80 – £2.

Passouts are available at the show. Your ticket will be taken upon entry into the show however, a passout can be obtained by getting your hand stamped.
Children under 16 are admitted free with an adult.

If you have a disability that necessitates a carer*, your carer will be welcomed free of charge on the day.
Please note, they do not require a ticket. Carer’s concessions are exclusive to showground entry only.

*Please note that ONE example of the following supporting documentation must be presented at one of the ticket booths on entry to the show: Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance. Without documentation, carers will need to purchase a ticket on the gate. Carers will be issued a wristband on the day.

Accredited assistance dogs only are permitted onto the showground.



Train services run from various towns and cities into Southport. Northern Rail operates regular services to Southport from Manchester Airport, Manchester (Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria stations), Bolton and Wigan. Connecting services to / from the North East and Yorkshire are available at Manchester Piccadilly and from the North, Scotland and the South at Wigan. Merseyrail run fast and frequent services between Liverpool South Parkway (for Liverpool John Lennon Airport), Liverpool City Centre and Southport.

Bus - With a network of travel centres across Merseyside, Merseytravel operate a number of bus services to and from Southport.

Coach - National Express coaches serve Southport from all major UK towns and cities making the town easily accessibly by coach.

Victoria Park has wide walkways and a level surface, providing excellent access to all parts of the show. With a great deal of the show under cover, it is designed to be enjoyed whatever the weather.

Event Mobility Charitable Incorporated Organisation will be providing electric scooters and manual wheelchairs for the use of disabled, elderly and mobility impaired visitors to the Southport Flower Show.

To reserve an electric scooter or manual wheelchair you can book on line at, print out an advance booking form from the website or contact the office on 01386 725391 to request a form to be posted to you. The charity asks £25 for an electric scooter and £10 for a manual wheelchair. Please be aware that advance bookings cannot be made by phone.

Please note, pre booked wheelchairs and scooters are to be collected at the Eco Centre.


Parking is clearly sign posted upon arrival into Southport. Available for an all-day rate of £6 in 2 main public parking areas. Princes Park is close to the show and Birkdale Common is located a short distance from the show and has a regular Park and Ride Service. The drop off/pick up point is close to Duke Street Gate. All parking areas are clearly signposted in and around Southport.

Disabled car parking is located within the Esplanade (Eco Centre).

Pre booked wheelchairs and scooters are to be collected at the Eco Centre.

The coach parking is clearly signed posted upon arrival into Southport. Southport Flower Show offers coach parking, situated by the Eco Visitor Centre.

Food & Drink

We offer a wide variety of food at Southport Flower Show in pleasant surroundings. We have a Central Cafe and a varied assortment of mobile catering units located around the showground.

Established in 2009, Horseradish was initially founded to deliver innovative, quality catering for Chester Race Company’s 220,000 customers during a race season. With experience of delivering high quality catering and events, Horseradish has grown to include full facility management at venues such as Chester Town Hall, creative catering solutions for the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and numerous bespoke events at various venues such as Liverpool Cathedral and Tatton Park. Using locally sourced food and staff, Horseradish are located centrally in the country, and are able to deliver across the breadth of the UK.


All toilets for disabled people have baby changing facilities.


Southport Flower Show is a great day out for groups.

This year’s group discounts and incentives:

  • £19 for groups of up to 9 people
  • > 10% discount for groups of 10 - 48 (£17.10 per ticket)
  • > 15% discount for groups of 49+ (£16.15 per ticket)
  • > For groups of 10+, you will also receive free coach parking and a free ticket for the driver and the event organiser

Other Info

There are 3 places where luggage and plants can be left for later collection: near the Duke Street Gate, near the Esplanade Gate and behind the Grand Floral Marquee.

The main areas are located close to the Bandstand and Arena.

The start of the sell-off at 4pm on Sunday 20th August 2017 will be announced by a loud bell rung throughout the show.

Available from Ice Events ATM facilities and banking unit situated next to the Southport Flower Show offices. Please note that transaction charges will be applied.

Located next to Directors’ Lounge. Please note that a valid Patrons’ Badge is required for entry.

There are a number of places to ask questions and get advice. The Grand Floral Lecture Theatre, Plant and Garden Societies in the Amateur Growers’ Marquee, the Edible Gardening area, the Bees and Honey Marquee and from specialist growers in the Grand Floral Marquee.
